This Privacy Policy describes how receiptfake.com (“the Site,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website or use our online receipt generation tool. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
1. The Short Version
We built Receipt Maker to be privacy-respecting by design:
- Receipt content stays in your browser. Anything you type into the tool — store names, prices, items, logos — is processed entirely on your device. We never receive, see, or store the receipts you create.
- We use anonymous analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate (page views, referrers, device types). We do not track individual users.
- We display advertisements served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies to show relevant ads.
- We never sell personal data. Period.
Read on for the detailed version.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
The Receipt Maker tool runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. The following information is never transmitted to our servers:
- Business names, addresses, phone numbers, or website URLs you enter
- Item names, quantities, prices, taxes, tips, or totals
- Logos, signatures, or any uploaded images
- Generated receipts in any format (PDF, PNG, JPEG)
- Receipt template selections or design preferences
This data may be stored locally on your device using your browser’s localStorage feature so that your work is preserved if you refresh the page. This data lives only on your device and can be cleared at any time by clicking the “Reset” button in the tool, by clearing your browser’s site data, or by using your browser’s private/incognito mode.
3. Information We Do Collect
3.1 Automatically Collected Information
When you visit receiptfake.com, our hosting provider and analytics services automatically collect certain information about your visit, including:
- Your IP address (often anonymized)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device type
- Referring website (the page you came from)
- Pages visited on our site and the time spent on each

3.2 Information You Voluntarily Provide
If you contact us through our contact page, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
receiptfake.com uses the following cookies and tracking technologies:
4.1 Essential / Functional Cookies
We use your browser’s localStorage (a form of local storage similar to cookies) to remember your last-used template and field values within the Receipt Maker tool. This is purely a convenience feature and is not transmitted off your device.
4.2 Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous information about your visit. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We may also use Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymized session recordings and heatmaps to help us understand how the site is used. Clarity does not capture text you enter into the receipt tool. Read Microsoft’s Privacy Statement for more information.
4.3 Advertising Cookies
We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- To operate, maintain, and improve our website and tools
- To analyze usage patterns and trends in aggregate
- To respond to your inquiries when you contact us
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or technical issues
- To serve relevant advertisements through Google AdSense
- To comply with legal obligations
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We use trusted third-party services (Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Microsoft Clarity, Cloudflare, Hostinger) to operate the site. These providers process information only as necessary to deliver their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, subpoena, court order, or other valid legal request.
- Protection of rights: We may disclose information when we believe it is necessary to protect our rights, property, safety, or that of our users.
7. Data Retention
Information collected through analytics and advertising services is retained according to those providers’ policies (typically 14 to 26 months for Google Analytics, by default). Information you submit through the Contact page is retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry, and is deleted thereafter unless retention is required for legal reasons.
